New CommsDAC family targets
high-speed digital data transmissionDesigners of systems with high-performance digital signal processors (DSPs) such as the TMS320C6000 and TMS320C5000 platforms from Texas Instruments need not look any further than TI for high-performance complementary data converter components, thanks in part to four new digital-to-analog converters (DACs) tailored for communications systems.
The new 100-MSPS product family, with each device known as a CommsDAC™, includes the THS5641, THS5651, THS5661 and THS5671 with 8-, 10-, 12- and 14-bit resolution, respectively. The THS56x1 devices provide DSP customers the benefit of using binary or two's complement input code format, since DSPs process data expressed in a two's complement format. Furthermore, brief 1-ns minimum set-up and hold times allow the CommsDAC more time to latch input data.
Product features:
100-MSPS update rate
8-, 10-, 12- and 14-bit resolution
