Knorr-Bremse’s Product Cybersecurity Team is developing standardized tests for ECU validation. In this project, the student will familiarize themselves with the existing test framework and develop a test case targeting Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) session-switch vulnerabilities. Specifically, the test will carefully time diagnostic session switches to evaluate whether an ECU can be coerced into getting stuck in an unintended state.
Following this, the student will assist in designing a baseline testing plan composed of standardized test cases to be executed during every validation cycle. Finally, the developed tests will be executed first in a simulated environment and subsequently verified during a real ECU validation test.
